Over the years, the caboose in Railroad Square Art Park has been many things, but it has never claimed to house the Sausage Kings of Tallahassee. The made in house, “grind to grill” sausage is whats giving these guys the esteemed moniker. From seasoning, grinding, casing, to eventually char-grilling over an open flame all done in house, The Crum Box Gastgarden sausage is what sets these guys apart. Along with their pork tenderloin hoagie and veggie burger, they also provide their made in-house signature sides that range from cole slaw, to a kickin’ cucumber salad, to a cheese and macaroni. The casual, friendly atmosphere with both indoor and outdoor seating, includes TVs, bands on their outdoor Gastgarden stage, movie nights, **open mic** on Sundays, and more that will keep you occupied while enjoying your meal and a few cold ones with friends. In just a short four months, Pete and Trey have already built a loyal base of customers, one sausage at a time. The future is wide open for this little sanctuary in the middle of town, bordering FSU, FAMU, and Downtown. ***Starting in the new year, their hours will be expanding from just the weekend to being open from Wednesday through Sunday from 12pm-12am. They also look to expand the menu with a few more signature options, along with opening the door to catering, selling packaged sausage to go, and increasing the daily entertainment options. If you haven’t tried The Crum Box Gastgarden yet, come out to Railroad Square Art Park and see what the future Sausage Kings of Tallahassee are serving up.
