Overcome evil Jun13 Romans 12:21 keeps coming to me. It says: “Do not let yourself be overcome by evil, but overcome (master) evil with good.” The way that we are going to overcome evil is to show God’s love to others and yes, even our enemies. We need to be kind, gentle, helpful. Is it always easy? No! However, satan loves to inject wrong thoughts into our minds and if we meditate on those thoughts, they will sooner or later, come out of our mouths and when that happens, all we are doing is coming into agreement with satan. When a wrong thought comes, speak God’s word outloud. If you feel bad about yourself, you can say “God loves me”, “I am a child of the Most High God”. Remember, God doesn’t make mistakes. He created you, He loves you! Since He created us, if we put ourselves down, we are putting down our Creator, our Maker. If someone is ugly towards you, says unkind things to you, or treats you badly, my Pastor said to say under your breath or louder, “I bind this spirit in the name of Jesus!” satan is not Omniscient like God. he cannot hear or read our thoughts. Only God can. When I pray or read His word, I love to talk with Him out loud and to read His word out loud. If someone has a need and if we are able to meet that need, it’s important that we do. Even a sincere smile, a kind word or greeting is a blessing. Even when someone speaks mean to us, we don’t need to speak the same way. My son and I have a very difficult person who is renting a room in our home and satan attacks me quite a bit through her. God is strengthening me in all ways and comforts me. We need to meditate on God’s word. However, if we don’t know what to say at the time, the best name to say is JESUS! Don’t let satan condemn you and please always remember that God never does. His Holy Spirit will convict us, but never condemn us. Thank-you Lord! May God bless you all.
