Overcomer Update: I hope you all had a wonderful 4th of July. It was beautiful here in Virginia thanks to the hurricane that sucked up all the humidity! The day was windy and 80 degrees with lots of sunshine. Have I said how much I hate to deal with insurance companies? I forgot one of my hard and fast rules for healing.......dont let yourself get upset!!! That is the fastest way to undo any progress. I wound up with a massive headache after spending almost an hour on the phone and finally had to just hand the phone to James, as I could no longer deal with it. It was over the $800.00 of my replace prognostics and bras since I now need two that matched......It was all I could do to be civil and not scream that maybe I should have had reconstruction instead and it would have been a lot more than $800.00 for that.............. I just got the first billing from the Cancer Center, and my first treatment was in the amount of $16,366.00. This amount saddens me more than I can say for the people who do not have not prepared by having insurance. My mom and dad had to put their cattle up as mortgage collateral in 1966 after I spent 30 days in the hospital and had surgery too. The whole bill was less than $750.00 for the entire amount. So I vowed never to be without insurance no matter what. There were times when jobs did not offer insurance so we purchased our own, at our own expense. We may have not have had nice vacations and trips, but we never worried about how to cover our bills. My thought for the day is be kind to others, but always be prepared, whether it be spiritually, mentally or financially and you will find your way through what ever comes in our lives. I hope everyone has an awesome and safe 4th of July weekend. Again thank you all for your thoughts and prayers. Robin.
