Overeating any food will have consequences! Brilliant article - TopicsExpress

Overeating any food will have consequences! Brilliant article in new Scientist in the 24th of January edition. Showcasing some very interesting points. Very well designed studies are now showing that eating meat can be healthy even more so than completely abstaining. A good point shows that processed meats are much worse than lean meats. However I do agree eating too much of any one meat will eventually cause problems, the same study is quoted in this article that I mentioned earlier this year regarding microbes converting L-carnitine into a substance that prevents cholesterol clearing. The article also mentions haem found in high amounts even in lean beef which can oxide fats very quickly. It would be well worth of a read of these studies some mentioned in the article and others not: nature/news/red-meat-wrong-bacteria-bad-news-for-hearts-1.12746 epic.iarc.fr cdc.gov/nchs/nhanes.htm Makes perfect sense right, my advice is to eat 2 to 3 portions of red meats per week and rotate between fishes and poultry keeping your vegetable intake very high and if you really want protection from colorectal cancer use resistant starches.
