Overheard an anchor over the local radio early this morning asking what I was doing for my district while the other Congressmen in our province are giving away gifts and sponsoring parties for their own districts and why I was not doing the same. Sad that the views of some of our opinion makers are still very traditional. Patronage, and not honest and dedicated service, remains the measure of how good public officials are. Might be the reason why, most of the time, we do not really elect the best people into office.
