Overheard from UNBROKEN, that Angelina Jolie-directed movie Elvs and I saw today. ... the move forward is not revenge, but forgiveness. How profound, especially if one finds himself the object of not only extreme physical harm, but also verbal abuse ... and the harsh circumstances of life purposely engendered by ones worst enemies. This is not a movie about the olympics - although the hero was an American olympian - nor about the ravages brought by war, although the story plot was that of a war. But more so about the human spirit, how one can make it stand until it becomes victorious, although buffeted by so many harsh trials of life, people and circumstances. Just an awesome story, with an equally awesome twosome theme of UNBROKENNESS AND FORGIVENESS. The latter leg, needless to say, is heavily centered on Christs forgiveness of a sinful soul. pE
