Overpronation, Foot exercises and orthotics Has anyone here - TopicsExpress

Overpronation, Foot exercises and orthotics Has anyone here successfully reduced overpronation through exercises? I have had random soreness on the top of my foot for a day or 2 after running (essentially mild tendonitis). This has been for 7 years to the point I stopped running. Various pracitioners gave me calf stretches and strengthening exercises and put me into orthotics plus other exercises but nothing worked. In the past year I have been scouring the internet to help myself and after some pretty aggressive self massage of the foot, mostly the sole it has largely cured my problem. I am now up to 6 miles and planning entering some ultras in the summer. However, I notice my left big toe is perhaps a little weak and maybe not functioning correctly. This I assume is contributing to or causing my overpronation on this side which is currently causing a little knee soreness. In the past I have ITB on this side. So I see various youtube clips and website showing foot exercises to strengthen foot muscles. Does anyone here have any experiance of doing any foot exercises and did they reduce your overpronation. Did they reduce it to a point you did not need orthotics? I mentioned this last time I saw a practitioner (chiropodist) but they just wanted to put me in orthotics. If you have read this far thank you for your time. Please share your related experiances.
