Overseas Development Partners team calls on DU VC Representatives from various Overseas Development Partners of Bangladesh including the World Bank, UNICEF and JICA called on Dhaka University Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. AAMS Arefin Siddique today, November 11, 2013 at the latter’s office of the university. The team members are Ayeshe Vande, Senior Education Specialist of the World Bank, Yumiko Yamakawa, Education Specialist of the same organization, Dr. Anjana Mangalagiri, Chief of the Education Program of UNICEF and Dr. Kazuaki Hashimoto, Primary Education Advisor of JICA. Professor Md. Jalal Uddin, Director of the Institute of Education and Research (IER), Dhaka University was present on this occasion. During the meeting they discussed matters of mutual interest specially possibilities of undertaking joint collaborative academic programmes by the University of Dhaka and various development partners of Bangladesh. They also discussed about introducing “Diploma in Primary Education” course at the IER of Dhaka University with financial assistance and technical support of the development partners. They also stressed the need on ensuring the quality of primary education in Bangladesh. Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. AAMS Arefin Siddique thanked the guests for their visit to and keen interest in academic activities of Dhaka University. ----------------
