Owaisi vows to make Hyderabad an ideal city APR 03 AIMIM President Asaduddin Owaisi has filed his nomination from Hyderabad Lok Sabha seat for the third consecutive term. He submitted his nomination papers at Hyderabad collector office, Chirag Ali Lane. Asad Owaisi was first elected from Hyderabad seat in 2004 and repeated his fate in 2009 general elections as well. Hyderabad parliamentary constituency has been a strong bastion for MIM ever since former party president Late Sultan Salahuddin Owaisi was elected for the first time in 1984. Speaking to media after filling his nomination Asaduddin Owaisi said Hyderabad parliament seat is the voice of oppressed people, playing its role to stop the nefarious designs of communal forces. MIM will not have any truck with any political party, he clarified. Owaisi said the people of Hyderabad always trusted him and they will again elect him with thumping majority. He vowed to continue his fight against communal forces and injustice. He mocked the predictions that theBJP will emerge victorious this time from Hyderabad and said this dream of saffron party will not materialise. The agenda BJP pursues is not good for democracy. BJP stands for majoritarian form of democracy, MP said. “Turning Hyderabad into an ideal city is my dream”, Owaisi said claiming that the basic problems of the citizens have been resolved during his tenure. There is still a lot to be done to make Hyderabad an ideal city, he confessed. He pointed out that a Chennai based agency has placed him at fourth position in the best MPs of the country and said our work is our identity. MIM has never believed in poll manifestos. Manifesto is a document that is made to fool the people, Owaisi ruled. We are among people round the clock. No party can match the MIM leaders spirit of serving people, added party president. Owaisi said that Majlis will not limit itself to Hyderabad and vowed to raise the party’s voice for Muslims of Seemandhra and Dalits as well. Shaji Ullah Firasat
