Oy... Glens clock radio went off as an alarm after hed left the room, awakening me from a weird dream. At least the dream came to a conclusion so I could forget it, instead of thinking about it all day. He was really sorry. Its a bit of a malfunction. Luckily, Im a friendly non-morning person and Ive been getting up earlier these past 4-5 days, since the early-morning risings of art show days reset my internal clock for awhile. I stayed up late last night finishing a friends earrings. So glad I did! All the little details leading up to Christmas are going pretty well. I still have some Christmas shopping to do, but not that many more ideas. I wish I had time to drive up to Thomasville and shop in their little downtown area. I yearn for such an area in my own town. Alas, that was drained away in the late 60s/early 70s when government and professionals took over our downtown, leaving little local infrastructure in place. For awhile, Northwood Mall served as an alternate downtown, but then that succumbed to the more aggressive Tallahassee Mall and the local stores of Northwood blinked out, one-by-one. When I travel, I go to places that still have the Main Street America town centers where merchants are local. This small city should have been able to retain this aspect, even as it became a more aggressive capital city serving the needs of those who govern us and lobby them.
