P: A friend of mine recently introduced me to a video entitled ‘Are we real?’. I have been thinking about the question and my immediate answer is ‘of course we are’. After that, other issues present themselves. Once we accept that life is a continuity, it follows that our reality is not our physical bodies. So, then, what do we look like? How do we know each other? Do we have an appearance that truly represents our absolute, comprehensive, reality? My understanding is that, in the aftermath of our passing, we are readily recognisable to our relatives, friends and acquaintances who have preceded us into spirit. We can choose to appear according to our preference, presumably without the scars of years of physical existence. (We’d surely be glad to get rid of them, I imagine.) According to my guide, Shebaka, as we move into higher states of awareness appearance literally mirrors the soul. Each soul creates its own distinct impression and is much more clearly identifiable, although in non-material form, than a soul housed in a physical body. We’ll be truly ourselves.
