P.K. was rejected by his family and banned from school for being gay. He fled Ghana after his partner’s murder. After 5 months in detention in the U.S, Immigration Equality took on his case and prevented him from being deported back to assault, imprisonment, and death. Now that he’s safe, he’s applying to universities to study engineering. “I am happy to be able to finish my education in the U.S.” he says. “I look forward to my new life here.” Every day, attorneys at Immigration Equality work with clients like Paa so that they can start a new life. Your continued support sustains our work. imeq.org/20
