P15.5-M Vizcaya road project starts March 17, 2014 9:37 pm by Leander C. Domingo BAYOMBONG, Nueva Vizcaya: The provincial government here is set to construct the P15.5 million-worth Bambang-Pingkian mountain road project to boost economic activities of upland farmers. Gov. Ruth Padilla said the project will uplift the economic activities of farmers in Kayapa town known as the vegetable bowl of the Cagayan Valley region. With the completion of the said road project, Padilla said, mountain villagers will be able to increase their production of fresh lettuce, cabbage, pechay and ginger which are the main vegetable products of Kayapa town. The mountain road project is 2,757.5 meters funded under Ordinance 2013-244 appropriating some P97.5 million budget for the concreting and repair of major road networks in the province as well as the construction of the Besong Bridge in Kayapa town with a budget of P6.7 million.
