P201401753 Motor Vehicle Accident (fatality): On Sunday, June 08, 2014 at about 2:00 a.m. South Windsor Police and Fire crews responded to a motor vehicle accident on Oakland Road in the area of the 300 block. Emergency crews found a late model Camaro convertible had left the roadway, struck an unoccupied parked car and broke a telephone pole. The single occupant of the car was seriously injured and later died at Manchester Hospital. The man was a 56 year old resident of South Windsor; his name is being withheld until his family is notified. The accident is being investigated by members of the South Windsor Police Traffic Unit, with assistance from officers in Metro Traffic Services. The road is expected to be reopened at about 9:00 a.m. Sunday morning once utility crews have replaced the pole and moved the utilities onto it.
