PA/SC - 2 Sheriffs and their Deputies, 600 miles apart, make a dream come true for a 9 year old, with a lot of help from citizens across the country - A 9 year old submitted letters in response to a Chester County Sheriff who takes kids hunting - the young boys heart was broken when his mom realized the outing was not with THEIR Chester County Sheriff in Pennsylvania, but with the Chester County Sheriff in South Carolina - PA CCSO Sheriff Carolyn Welsh and her Deputies felt so bad for Little A Alex after reading the letters submitted and then seeing his face when he was told the outing was actually a different Chester County, that they immediately got on the horn with SC CCSO Sheriff Alex Big A Underwood and everyone knew what they had to do. So the story got out and donations came pouring in to fly Little A to SC (his first ever plane ride) - CCSO Deputies and the Big A met Little A at the airport and gave a lights and sirens escort to the sporting goods store, who in turn, outfitted Little A with clothes, boots, fishing gear, etc. Then Big A (the Sheriff) took Little A to breakfast and then they headed out to bag the big one - Sheriff Underwood and his family opened his home to Little A where he stayed for the few days.
