PAGASA-DOST: WEATHER BULLETIN #2 Tropical Cyclone Warning: Typhoon “Huaning” (Soulik) ISSUED AT 5:00 PM, WEDNESDAY 10 July 2013 (Valid for broadcast until the next bulletin to be issued at 11PM today) Typhoon “HUANING” HAS MAINTAINED ITS STRENGTH AS IT CONTINUES TO MOVE IN A WEST-NORTHWEST DIRECTION. Location of eye/center: At 4:00 PM today, the eye of Typhoon “Huaning” was located based based on all available data at 1,150 km East of Itbayat, Batanes (21.6°N, 134.4°E). Strength: Maximum sustained winds of 175 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 210 kph. Movement: Forecast to move West Northwest at 20 kph. Forecast Positions:Typhoon “Huaning” is expected to be at 720 km Northeast of Itbayat, Batanes by tomorrow afternoon and at 380 km Northeast of Itbayat, Batanes by Friday afternoon. By Saturday afternoon, it will be at 560 km Northwest of Itbayat, Batanes outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility. Estimated rainfall amount is from 10-25mm per hour (heavy to intense) within the 800 km diameter of the typhoon.
