PAGASA Tropical Storm "NANDO" Weather Bulletin Number FOUR Tropical Cyclone Warning: Tropical Storm "NANDO" (KONG-REY) Issued at 5:00 p.m., Monday, 26 August 2013 "NANDO" has intensified into a Tropical Storm as it continues to move in a Northwest direction Location of Center: (as of 4:00 p.m.) 270 km East of Casiguran, Auror Coordinates: 16.8°N, 125.0°E Strength: Maximum sustained winds of 65 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 80 kph Movement: Northwest at 15 kph Forecast Positions/Outlook: Tuesday afternoon: 160 km Southeast of Basco, Batanes Wednesday afternoon: 160 km North of Basco, Batanes Thursday afternoon: 420 km North of Basco, Batanes or at 20 km East of Northern Taiwan Areas Having Public Storm Warning Signal PSWS # Luzon Visayas Mindanao Signal No. 1 (45-60 kph winds) Batanes Group of Islands Cagayan including Calayan Babuyan Group of Islands Apayao Isabela None None Estimated rainfall amount is from 10 - 20 mm per hour (heavy - intenese) within the 400 km diameter of the Tropical Storm. "NANDO" is expected to enhance the Southwest Monsoon which will bring light to occasionally heavy rains and thunderstorms Metro Manila and the rest of Southern Luzon. Sea travel is risky over the eastern seaboard of Central and Southern Luzon. The public and the disaster coordinating councils concerned are advised to take appropriate actions and watch for the next bulletin to be issued at 11 PM today.
