PAGASA Weather Bulletin Number 3 (61713) - Tropical Cyclone Alert: Tropical Depression "EMONG" Issued at 11:00 a.m. (Monday, 17 June 2013) Tropical Depression "EMONG" has maintained its strength while still over the East Philippine Sea. Location of Center: (as of 10:00 a.m.) 280 km East of Virac, Catanduanes Coordinates: 13.8°N, 127.0°E Strength: Maximum winds of 55 kph near the center Movement: West Northwest at 11 kph Forecast Positions/Outlook: >Tuesday morning - 230 km Northeast of Virac, Catanduanes >Wednesday morning: 330 km East of Aparri, Cagayan >Thursday morning: 400 km Northeast of Basco, Batanes No Public Storm Warning Signals Raised Estimated rainfall within the 300 km diameter of the Tropical Depression is from 5 - 15 mm per hour (moderate - heavy) Tropical Depression "EMONG" is still far to directly affect any part of the country. However, it will enhance the Southwest Monsoon which will bring moderate to occasionally heavy rains and thunderstorms over Southern Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao. TD "EMONG" is likely to intensify within the next 24 to 48 hours. The public and the disaster coordinating councils concerned are advised to take appropriate actions and watch for the next bulletin to be issued at 11 p.m. today.
