PALAWAN ESCAPADE. Navigating inside the Puerto Princesa Subterranean River where total darkness enveloped inside the cave. A spotlight was used to illuminate rock formations, stalactites and stalagmites. As we moved deeper into the cave, we were treated to spectacular rock formations that line up this amazing natural wonder. There were unique stalactites the guide called the Crocodile, the Candle, giant mushrooms and vegetables. These are called draperies or curtains. The eerie Holy Family is another set of stalagmites. There was a rock formation the guide called Titanic and many more rock formations, the names of which I can no longer memorize. There were bats clinging precariously on the ceiling walls. The dark streaks on the wall were guano. Exploring this natural wonder was amazing.
