PALM BEACH GARDENS, FLORIDA — In a move against the “puppy mill” industry, the city council on Thursday acted to ban pet shops from selling dogs and cats. In the 5-0 initial vote, the council agreed to give the city’s two pet shops 180 days to sell their inventories. The proposed ordinance will require a second vote, likely next month, for it to become law. Vice Mayor Eric Jablin: Its very easy to go along in life not knowing things and just turning your back on issues like this. I cant in good conscience allow this kind of commerce to go on in our city.
