He wants to hire a handwriting expert to verify his signatures in the PDAF disbursement confirmation letters. It might be believable if Revilla was someone like Way Kurat who became the victim of a “clerical error” made by the Department of Budget and Management (DBM) when it said that the Compostela Valley representative received a whopping P3 billion in pork barrel funds in 2007 when he really did not. Sadly, the Panday’s consistency seems to lie not in honesty but in covering up the truth – as his track record shows: First, when news of the Napoles scandal came out and he was named as one of the senators whose pork barrel allocations went to Napoles-founded NGOs, he remained mum about knowing Napoles, only to later concede after photos of himself with Napoles came out. Second, when it surfaced that his son Bryan is a business partner of Napoles’ son James Christopher, he angrily said that the press should not involve the senators’ children in the fiasco and he questioned why his son’s business with Napoles was being ‘tainted with malice’. And now the demand for a handwriting expert. In the world of make-believe – where apparently he resides – he might get away with this. After all, he was Number 1 Senator during the 2010 senatorial race. How can a Number 1 senator possibly allow his pork to be allocated to less than honorable NGOs?
