PANO – The Xua and Nay (Past and Present) Magazine of the Vietnamese Association of Historical Sciences on September 29th presented brass bust statues of late Prime Minister Vo Van Kiet and late Professor Tran Van Giau to High Schools named after them in Kien Giang province and Ho Chi Minh City. The event, part of the meaningful program, “Contributing bronze to cast statues of well-known Vietnamese personalities”, shows people’s gratitude to the contributions of national heroes and soldiers during the national revolutionary cause. Historian Duong Trung Quoc, the magazine’s Editor-in-Chief said that over the past 15 years, more than 100 bust statues of renowned Vietnamese personalities and historical figures were granted to temples, commemorative houses and schools.
