PAPA BLAKELY SEES SON MARQUS RETURNING TO SAN MIG COFFEE NEXT - TopicsExpress

PAPA BLAKELY SEES SON MARQUS RETURNING TO SAN MIG COFFEE NEXT SEASON “Unfinished business last year. This time, chapter closed.” That was how Marvin Blakely, the father of San Mig Coffee import Marqus, described his son’s return to the Philippines to lead the Mixers’ to the Governors’ Cup title. Marqus led the team to the brink last season, before losing in Game Seven to Rain or Shine. There would be no such heartbreak this year, after San Mig Coffee emerged victorious in another seven-game showdown, this time against Petron. After completing a title run, Papa Blakely sees his son returning to help San Mig Coffee defend its title “I think he’ll be coming back next year,” said Marvin, adding that Marqus won’t be the only member of the Blakely clan looking forward to returning. “If he’s here, I’m here, absolutely.” Marqus echoed his father’s thoughts about another tour of duty in the PBA. “I couldn’t ask for anything else,” said Blakely. “I hope to come back next year on the same position. If I’m available, I’m coming back.” San Mig Coffee executive Rene Pardo is confident about Blakely’s return — that is, if the do-it-all import isn’t called up to the big leagues. “NBA lang naman ang kalaban namin eh. He’ll be back next season. He’s our resident import, anyway,” said Pardo. *ar-ar (c) interaksyon/interaktv/papa-blakely-sees-son-marqus-returning-to-san-mig-coffee-next-season
