PARAMHANSA SAINT HIRDARAM SAHIBJI Indian is infact a sacred land where God incarnated in various forms and appearances for restoration of his devotees and ruin the wicked time to time. Sometimes God has sent his beloved devotees in the appearance of seers and social reformers like Bhakta Prahalad, Vithalji, Namdeoji, Ramkrishna Param Hansa, Saint Gyaneshwar, Janaa Bai, Tukaram, Guru Nanak Deoji, Sain Baba of Shirdi etc. These saints incarnated and they purified the society and the land of this country. So as Saint Hirdaram Sahib Ji also born on September 21st, 1906 at a Village Bihnan of Khairpur Taulka Near Faizganj of Sind (Now in Pakistan). Entire life of this seer spent in service of poor and remembrance of almighty God. He preached these teachings to his followers based at India and abroad Prior to Saint Hirdaramji there were four other great seers in Ahuja family. They were also devotees of God. Bhai Tannuram Sahib, Bhai Dhannu Ram Sahib, Bhai Hariram Sahib and Bhai Pahilaram Sahib. Mother of Saint Hirdaramji Rochal Bai was grand daughter in law of Bhai Tannu Ramji, she was also devotee, through out the day she used to recite Guruvani (Recitations of Shri Guru Granth Sahib) and were dedicated to service of God. In view of this dedication her grand father in law Bhai Tannu Ram ji blessed her that she would give birth to a super human who will show the path of ethics, service and spiritualism to the wordly people in coming future. Bhai Tannu Ramji gave her or chain and also told that after attaining young age and becoming seer this chain should be given to him. Blessings of Bhai Tannuramji materialised and a invisible great personage incarnated in Brahmuharat (three hours before dawn time) on September 21st, 1906 in Family of reverend and mother Rochalbai on sixth day of incorporation of this great personage child, Bhai Tannuram blessed him and disclosed that this great personage will become a seer. This child was named Ram. In Braham Muhurat (dawn time) when mother Rochal Bai recites guruvani this child Ram also oscillate his lips and recite Guruvani. When mother Rochal Bai informed to her mother in law about this act of the child. Then the old grand mother of this child replied. This is perhaps influence of childs previous birth . So he is reciting Guru Vani in such a quite infant stage. Usually grand mother of the child Ram also recite Guruvani every time. When his mother left this child alone in the room, later he was often found out of this room. When she caused to sleep him beneath them often he also found on bedstead. Mother Rochal Bai surprised to see and think that what is happening. Her grand mother gave her courage and say that the child is perhaps invisible. Child Ram is also like her ancestor Bhai Hariram Ji. He (Bhai Hariram) also acted like this earlier to child Ram. She disclosed and assumed that God has graced on her family. Therefore seers are being uncarnated in her family. At the age of three years child Ram attentively listened the recitations of sukhmani, Sahib from his father sahijram sahib. After one year when his grand father Bhai Tannuramji worked in the fields, he always immersed in devotion. When Bhai Tannuram found the child in this manner, he often bless and used to take him in his lap and love him. Meanwhile child learned to read and write Gurumukhi script and started reciting Guruvani. At the age of five child Ram went to the school. Child Ram was fast walker since childhood. He was very promising in studies. Child Ram had immense interest in sports. He studied up to fifth standard in the school. Later he showed dis-interest in this type of learning and education. He started concentrating in real learning that was to obtain spiritual and mythological knowledge. He clearly told the parents that he is not willing to be in these worldly reasonings. He disclosed that instead of he would prefer to devote and proximate with any seer. On attaining the age of fourteen, Swamiji began impressed with abandon and asceticism. In the year 1919 adolescent boy have got perfect Guru in the appearance of Bhai Hariramji. Bhai Hariramji was very pleased to observe the spirit of dedication and service of Child Ram. He engaged all the time in the service of his Guru forgetting worldly reasoning. The Guru was very pleased and blessed him. Mean while the learning of the child Ram was gradually increasing towards devotion of God. The Guru Bhai Hariramji preached him to keep away from Lust, Anger, Greed, Affection, Arrogance, Jealousy. Guru inspired the child Ram for remembrance of God all the time. Guru guided him to recite Guruvani regularly. The guru learned him to live like lotus in this mud like world. Besides these, Guruji taught his disciple the following lessons also. 1. Simple diet 2. Simple life and dress 3. Do your daily works at your own 4. Non acceptance of wealth 5. Non proximity with worldly acts 1. Simple diet : There is an idiom in Hindi that Jaisa Khavenge Anna Waisa Banega Mann - Jaisa Piyenge Pani Waisi Banegi Vani. It means that the dietary habits effects the human conducts. Similarly if any body do not drink pure water than his speech will also not be good. Saint Hirdaram Ji always ate pure and simple food. He followed the principles of celibacy in his life. Despite of being healthy in most of his life, he kept away himself with salt, sugar, spices and deep fried vegetables. Swamijis diet was - Raw, boiled and green vegetables like gourd, quilt memordica salaads and fruits were inducted in the diet of Saint Hirdaram Sahibji. Saintji always suggested others to follow these dietary habits. He preached that the food affects the thinking of people. So every body should eat pure and pious food. Royal and heavy food change our mind set and thinking in negative way. 2. Simple life and simple clothing (clad) simple life and high thinking was a motto of Saint Hirdaramji. His life was always simple and easy. Swamiji slept on hand object through out his life. He wore inferior cotton in light saffron colour. Swamji always hold an opinion that thinking of a man always remain same as he eats food. Maharishi Vashishta also explained that there is no need of becoming a seer instead of one should be easy going. Saint Hirdaramji also adopted same style, inspired others for simple and easy life style. Saint Hirdaramji stressed to wear white and light coloured clothes. Because he assumed that the white and light coloured garments inspire us to live in simplicity. In such a way a person keeps high thinking. Swamiji always used to say that no body can be a seer to wear saffron coloured clothes. To becoming a seer is an state of mind and heart. As an example of Deewan Rai Bahadur Harumal Moolchandani, Swamiji told that Deewan Saheb always wore the garments like the English. He always wore a coat and a hat on his head, but his heart always remember almighty God every time. Number of times Swamiji met him. At the last moments of Deewan Sahebs life. A message was received by Swamiji that Deewan Saheb is not going well and he all the time remember Swamji. Saint Hirdaramji was expected to meet him soon. Then Swamji reached to ailing Deewan Harumal in his last moments Deewan Saheb was not even listening and speaking. But the family members were informing him that his daughter came to see him or knee had also come. Family members were introgating whether he is listening them or not? But Deewan saheb was silently sleeping and kept his eyes shut. Family members under stood that Deewan Saheb is not capable to carrying them or to speak. But later Swamiji told them that inner soul of god is remembering almighty where he has to mingled with. You people are unnecessary crying. So his soul is disturbing. Deewan Saheb is responding fully what I am saying. After listening this Deewan Saheb also replied in affirmative and he felt better. Relatives of Deewan Saheb standing there were surprised to see this. Swamiji suggested them to leave Deewan Saheb alone in the room and let him to pray the God. For a short while Swamiji also went out of room for prayers. After sometime when they returned back in Deewan Sahebs room but by that time his soul was mingled with the supreme power. Swamiji then told that instead of wearing English style garments, in real sense he was a seer. So one should not be in suspicion, because this is an state of mind. Once, GAD Minister of M.P. Shri Rajendra Prasad Shukla came to Kutia for Darshanas of Paramhansa Saint Hirdaramji. On the main gate of Kutia, a volunteer was present. Minister asked that volunteer that where can he meet Saint Hirdaramji. Coincidently Saint Hirdaramji was also there in a very simple clad, which was almost ragged and shabby condition. Volunteer indicated and disclosed the identity of Swamiji. Minister Shri Shukla surprised to learn that he is Swamiji on whose name the nomenclature of Bairagarh is being changed. Volunteer repeated again that yes he is Saint Hirdaramji. Minister was very impressed that such a great seers own livelihood is so simple. Minister said that prior to Saint Hirdaramji he had see Saint Vinobha Bhave, who was also very simple. Minister said that Saint like you and Vinoba Bhave are very few on the earth. Shri Rajendra Prasad shukla then went to naturopathy center for treatment and he continued to visit there upto his presence in Bhopal. 3. Self efforts for personal works: Swamiji completed one hundred years of his age in September 2006. Till this age he was accustomed to do his day to day personal works at his own. Though there was not lack of volunteers in Kutia but not only he did his works but inspired others also to follow this line in their life. He preached that despite of being rich, man should do his work at his own. This type of life style gives good health and strength in men. Swamiji often preached girls and women to perform all family works at their own. This will help them to upkeep their good health and bring wealth in the family. Once an old lady from Mumbai came to Swamiji for Darshans and blessings. She told Swamiji that she was ailing with number of diseases. She prayed Swamiji for her good health. Swamji replied in affirmative and said that a remedy which I can suggest you, it should be considered. The old woman gave her consent. Then Swamji told her that all the met servants who are working at your home should be discontinued from right now and do your all works at your own. Then the old women replied to Swamiji that it is not possible for her because if she does this, first of all daughter-in-laws will ought her from home. Later swamiji told her that people like you invite diseases by their own causes. 4. Not to collect worldly wealth and material Swamiji had full faith in God. He usually said that the service based works are owned by God itself. God must have to come to finish those works. We dont know that How and in which dress and form he (God) will come. Swamiji had a full faith. We disciples had also experienced these issues in the company of Swamiji. He usually said that this worldly banks can be closed any time but the Gods bank will never be off. How much and whenever you want to receive. You will get the treasure. This can be achieved with selfless vision and sacred intention. He preached that if any body donate his hard earned wealth to a seer then it is a duty of that seer also to invest that hard money in the works of public welfare. So as with the blessings of benefitted victims the living conditions of donor should be also improved. Swamiji always retireates that the seers who collect money from their disciples and invest in banks and misutilize the money in their luxuries some of the seers disburse the donation amount on earning interest. Seers, these acts are not fair and thus they commit sin. Non attachment with worldly affairs Saint Hirdaramji occupied himself in prayers of God throughout the day except one an hour i.e. 9 am to 10.00 am. During this hour, he usually met worldly people. He always desired to meet those persons only who believes in almighty God and follow the ways of service of suffering humanity. Saint Hirdaramji said that on doing so and to inspire these persons for service of the suffering humanity. He in such away spends that time also in worshipping God. Everyday many followers used to come to Saint Hirdaramji Kutia for Darshans. There were two rows where these followers usually sit. In first row these followers were arranged to sit who engage themselves in regular prayers and serving people. While in another row those followers sit. Who had only been there for Darshans of Swamiji always interact with only first liners. Swamiji said that to converse those followers is also worshipping God. Swamiji said that to spare time for these followers will encourage them to achieve motto of remembering God and such a way they can live a meaningful life. Swamiji had not any affection with those worldly persons. Swamiji loved every body but he did not had fascination to anyone. Swami percepted that when any body deviate himself from the fascination of worldly affairs then only he will indulge in the spiritualism. Swamji followed the teaching of his Guru Saint Hariramji. He obeyed his teachings and thus he tendered his real Guru Dakshina to him. Saint Hirdaramji did not leave a stone unturned in the service of his guru. He self reasoningly serve his Guru and recite Sukhmani Sahib regularly. Swami Ji had verbally memorize Sukhmani Sahib. He recite and sing Sukhmani Saheb twice in a day. He won the heart of his Guru with his services. So Guru Hariramji changed his nomenclature from Ram to Hirdaram Ji. Swamiji could not even know that when he himself become a spiritual authority. Once a couple came to Bhai Hariramji and told them that they have completed twelve years of their martial life but till now they dont have a child. The couple prayed and asked for their desire. Then Bhai Hariramji suggested them to meet Swami Hirdaramji for this purpose. Now the couple came to Swami Hirdaramji and again explained their purpose of visit and also told them that Bhai Hariram had send them to you. They prayed Swami Hirdaramji . But he was also of not of that views to fulfill this type of wishes worldly people. Even that Swamiji unwillingly wrote some thing on a piece of paper and gave to the couple with the instruction that they will keep safe that piece of paper in an amulet and told them the God will bless them. After completing one year the couple came to Bhai Hari Ramji that Swami Hirdaramji gave them and amulet which resulted that now they are availing the roy of a child. On knowing this, Bhai Hariramji annoyed to Swami Hirdaramji and later he asked him that from when you have started giving amulets. Bhai Hariram told Swami Hirdaramji that miracle is home of turmoil. It is a sin to intervene in the matters of nature. Why you have done so? Then Swami Hirdaramji replied that he had not does as it is being said Swami Hirdaramji took the amulet and read in which it was write Guru Nanakji if you bless this couple with a child he has nothing to do and if you do not bless them even that he has nothing to do or say. Citing this text Bhai Hariramji and others were smiling. And yet Bhai Hariram express his dis pleasure and told Swami Hirdaramji that he should not even write like this. Then Swamji told that he had simply obeyed his order. I was not knowing that Guru Nanak Shah even accept these false requests. So this is the grace of Saints like Hirdaramji. Many times their anger also became blessings on their disciples. Swamji recites Guruvani round the clock, serve his Guru his disciples and Ashram. Swamiji always remained satisfy with serving others. Rishi (Saint) Daulatram Gursahani usually come to Guru Hariramji. He interacted with Swami Hirdaramji also. Once Rishi Daulatram Gursahani told Swami Hirdaramji that if you desire to consonance then only live with the persons. If not than live alone. This essence of knowledge deeply effect Swami Hirdaramji and he left for forest. He started living alone in dense forests where number of wild animals like lion, tiger and other hungry dreaded animals were wandering. He started worshipping God without caring thrust and hunger for so many days. Once and while he used to voice on the doors of villagers house for cooked food. If any day he does not get it than he assumed this the sweet will of God and remain hungry for long period. He had done this for a long time. Dacoits were also there in the forest they (dacoits) usually spoke that why this seer is not afraid of. He lives alone in the forest. These dacoits also built a hut on a tree because there was fear of wild animals in the nights. These dacoits gave half liter milk of goat every day and assure him not to fear. Dacoits assure swamiji for fearlessness. Rishi Daulatramji proximated with so many saints and devotees. He worshipped round the clock and study so many spiritual books. He spent his all the time in worshipping God. Life of Swami Hirdaramji was also effectionated with this great seer. Rishi Daulatram usually tells the tales of great seers and devotees. He also the life sketch and styles of great Saints Rishi daulatramji always said that we should take benefits of services of these great sees. So as to in the next birth we will get an opportunity to serve them. Rishi Daulatramji once told Swami Hirdaramji that he serve him lot and in the next incarnation he would serve him. It happened like so in the next incarnation reverend Sidh Bhauji started serving Saint Hirdaramji like he was serving earlier to Rishi Daulatramji. Saint Hirdaramji told Sidh Bhauji that he is Saint Daulatramji in present birth. Because the virtues and service spirit of sidh bhauji was same as earlier it was of Rishi Daulatramji. Sidh Bhauji had also interest in reading spiritual literature and serving to down trodden, suffering humanity and exertion. In the year 1943 a known person Bhai Khubchand told Swamiji to stay in a disciples assembly. He further suggested that you continue your devotion as well as impart divine knowledge to us. But Swamiji never wanted to be tied in a fix and routine life style. Swamiji told that he wants to live alone. I am satisfied here in the natural environment like river side, greenary and regular divine discourses are available without any obstruction. He further told that every thing is available there, which he wanted. Swami did not want to undulge himself in worldly affairs. There is no match in renunciation and worldly indulgence. He further told that darkness and light also can not live together. There are both different ways of gems devotion and worldly acts. There is a known Punjabi aphorism Bhaktan Aur Sansariyan Kadi na Aavie thour. Inka marg aur hai, unka marg aur. That affectionate disciple and surprise to listen these knowledgeable discourses of Swamiji for the same purpose. But he again repeated his version and requested that Swamiji will get avail all those things and atmosphere which he wanted to be there. That disciple again requested that to doing so they will also be able to have some drops of divine knowledge. Due to repeated insistence, finally Swamiji agreed to accompany and staying there in disciples assembly. In that assembly, Swamiji got up early in morning and grind floor with manually operated hand mill, serve the cows family, gardening and lifting water from well despite of doing all these works his heart always went away in the remembrance of God. He always remain indulged in the pious recition of that almighty. He recited and Sang Guruvani throughout the day. He never spoke more to any body else and always enjoy in himself and God. He often kept quite for a long period. Swamiji spent sacrificial life all the time. He had always remain stable. He did not feel pleasure to meet and also saddened separation with any body. Swamiji was buyer of virtues. He learned divine knowledge and sacrifice. Bhai Tanuramji taught him knowledge of Geeta while Bhai Pahilaramji told him to grab the secret of Guru Granth saheb and Guruvani. Swamji always associated with great seers and tried to learn the divine knowledge. His entire life was based on Truth, he always adopted the ways of ethics and religion. Saint Hirdaramji always tried to deviate sorrows and sufferings of poor and down trodden. The place and city became sacred where seer like Hirdaramji stayed. Sacred rivers like the Ganges, Yamuna and Saraswati appeared where Saint Hirdaramji kept his foot. The place becomes sacred junction. He was virtually visible idol of knowledge and treasure of devotion. Despite of always remaining in himself always worked for the betterment of poor. Attraction of unethical material could not impress him Rich and Poor were always equal for him. He never worried or cared for his own respect or disrespect. He always followed the principles of truth. He never flattered of rich and influenced persons. His consciousness was like stable ocean. When did he sleep or awake, nobody could know. Throughout the day he immersed in worshipping God. Kamini (Lustful woman), Kanchan (Gold) and Keerti (Repute) could not impress Saint Hirdaramji. He followed celibacy since childhood. He had full control over lust, anger, greed, affection, ego and jealousy. Sense organs were his slave. He always kept deformities in his control since childhood. He bridled over his desires. Life style of Saint Hirdaramji was very simple and pious. Swamiji lived in a ruined cottage at Bairagarh, Bhopal. This is a very peaceful place surrounded with mango and Neem trees. Boundary of this cottage is covered with myrtle shrubs. Floor of cottage is very simple. Swamji slept on hard based cot through out his life. He wore simple light saffron coloured torn shirt, one pair of old wooden slipper. He always sewed and repaired his torn rag. He did his all works at his own. Despite of fit he avoided to consume salt and sugar in his diet. He remained far away with tasty stuff. He had full control over his taste organs. Swami ji chewed the leaves of Neem and Tulsi (Basil-Plant) and juices of bitter guard, Anwala etc. Blessing of Saint Hirdaramji resulted reunion of separated persons, life in dead, quiting bad habits and changing over of the lines of palms of men. Because god never put aside the requests of seers like Saint Hirdaramji. Promises of seers are irrevocable. Their every word becomes the verdicts of God. Believers liberated following the verdicts of God. Saint Hirdaramji was a good example of service and devotion of God. He showed a straight and easy way to associate with almighty God. He usually said that old children and infirm are the real companions of the God. Serving them with heart and soul may cause happiness in this world and in the next world also. Service of suffering humanity is a real worship of God is a basic hymn. Saint Hirdaramji followed this target of his life. Saint Hirdaramji said that to take birth as a human being is precious. Of course path of devotion is difficult. But if any body has a deep curiosity to associate with almighty God. He should adopt easy and straight way of serving the poor and suffering people. Because god dwells in them. Serving person can adorn his life with the blessings of these poor people. Saint Hirdaramji never disturbed with any adverse news. Either it may be happy or a sorrow news. He remained stable in every situation. His undivided peace at least never disturbed. Though he was a proven spiritual authority but he always behaved like a devotee. There was no substitute of his politeness. He always appear to his follower with joined hands and used to say that he is lucky enough to see them. He was very kind hearted and proudless. Instead of being a proven seer, proud could even not touch him. He always tender happiness to each living being. He always used to say if you need happiness for yourself, first of all you tender happiness to others. He was kind enough for every living being. He found God in living being. Countless believers from India and Abroad used to come for Darshans of Saint Hirdaramji. They used to hear eternal discourses of Saint Hirdaramji and thus they improve their lives. As like Saint Gyaneshwar had purify its seat. Swami Eknathji had sacreded its entrance, white saint Baba of Shirdi had purify Shirdi town, simultaneously Saint Hirdaramji had purified Bairagarh (Bhopal) and Pushkar (Ajmer). He did not spoke on religious scriptures. He only shares his personal experiences of his life with total authentication. Swamiji always gave perceived remarks touch stone examples. Evils of many earlier lives of persons washed aways with the darshans of Saint Hirdaramji. Attachments of devotees reduces with Darshans and way of interospection become easier. Saint Hirdaramji Darshans are accomplishment of salvation. His discourses are the sentences of vedas. Followers felt obliged to listen these discourses of Swamiji. Saint Hirdaramji was ocean of joy and this joy he distributed among his followers.
