PARAMOUNT UPDATE: On April 29th, Losani Homes was notified by the City of Hamilton that there was a culvert collapse on Marston Road where a main line watermain is located directly above. The road and culvert had settled considerably due to heavy frost over the winter, and as a result the City had implemented an emergency shut-down of the watermain. This watermain, along with the existing watermain on Mud Street (which Losani was required to connect to) are the only two main lines servicing a Pumping Station and Reservoir that provides domestic and fire water to much of Upper Stoney Creek and all of Binbrook; leaving the watermain on Mud Street as the only available source. In light of this, the City would not permit Losani Homes to connect to the Mud Street watermain until the second main was repaired – a “no touch” policy to connect to the watermain was implemented to prevent a complete water shut-off to the broader community. We received notice from the City of Hamilton on Wednesday May 14th that the culvert and watermain repairs have been completed, and that we were able to proceed with our watermain connection. Due to minimum notice requirements (as water has to be shut off), the earliest we were able to complete this connection was Wednesday, May 21st. This has now been completed, and final inspections are currently underway with City inspectors. As of May 27th, Losani Homes will be in a position to apply for building permits and begin construction accordingly. Originally, we were supposed to have shovels in the ground as of May 21st, but with this unforeseen delay we were not able to meet our target and are off again by about 3 weeks. Once again we are revising our construction schedule. We strongly believe that we will be ready to begin construction the week of June 2nd, and will begin contacting purchasers in order of their current closings early next week and continuing over the next couple of weeks.
