PARENTS URGED TO USE APPARENT BREAK-IN AND VANDALISM AT ECOLE NOTRE DAME ON DENNIE STREET IN HANMER TO TEACH THEIR OWN CHILDREN ABOUT THE CONSEQUENCES OF SUCH ACTIONS It is reported that the Greater Sudbury Police have charged three boys with break, enter and commit mischief in relation to a break-in at Ecole Notre Dame on Dennie Street in Hanmer on Sunday afternoon. The boys, aged 12, 13 and 14 broke a glass window around 4 p.m. Sunday and were caught because of video surveillance cameras in the school. They sprayed the inside with fire extinguishers and left a large mess inside the school, plus they sprayed graffiti all over the walls. The boys are too young to have their names published under the Youth Criminal Justice Act, but no doubt the entire community has heard about the break-in and is aware of who the boys are. If you do make any comments on this story, please do not suggest any names. I am bringing this to your attention on this post as an encouragement to parents and older brothers and sisters to speak to their children and siblings about how such a senseless act will have an impact on the rest of ones life. Please impress upon your children that no matter how they feel about anything, doing something that is criminal will never turn out well. Despite the fact that the boys are too young to have their names published, rest assured that they are now in the system and any time something similar happens, they will be questioned by the police and they will have to come up with strong alibis or they will be placed under suspicion. It is just not worth it. Please speak to your children. And if you have younger brothers and/or sisters, warn them about the consequences of doing something like this. Some times children take advice from older brothers or sisters more than from their parents.
