PLEASE check your Charms account to ensure your email address is correct. **************************************************************** Parents and Students, Welcome back to the official start of the 2014-15 school year in the ECHS Bands. While many of you have already been here for marching band camp, our non-marchers are just getting started today and its great to have everyone back together for band classes. You will receive an email like this one each week from me (usually on Monday) throughout the year. I call it the This week in band email or TWIB for short. Ill go through all of the events of the week for all of our various band groups. Please remember that there are many different groups in our band and not every item will apply to your child. Feel free to replay to any of these emails if you have any questions about the plan for the week. Many parents often see these emails and it reminds them of another band issue they need to ask me about, that is fine too. Also, if your child is no longer in band, please reply to this message so we can make your account inactive. So, without further fanfare...this week in band: Wednesday, August 6: First day of school. We are sending three documents home with your band student today. One is a course syllabus for your review. One is an instruction sheet for accessing our database at home. The last is a sign-off sheet explaining where to find our handbook and calendar online and acknowledging that performances are counted for a grade and attendance is expected. This form should be signed at the bottom, cut, and returned to us. The form is attached for your convenience. Thursday, August 7: Rebel Regiment Rehearsal for ALL marching band kids. 4:00-6:00PM. White shirt Thursday...students should wear a white shirt. Friday, August 8: No band events after school today. Enjoy your weekend. Upcoming: Next week will be a typical marching band week. Monday is drum and guard practice until 6. Tue/Thur is the whole band until 6. And Friday night is our first game at Screven Co. HS. Details about that game will be available Monday.
