PARIS UPDATE: Monday 16 Sept – So great to have another free day… everyone (incl moi) seems to have recovered and rested a bit! The weather in Paris is weird – hot & sunny and then 2 steps later you are being drenched in rain and that carries on the whole day… but I DO have my 8 Euro umbrella which I feel is about to give in! But the weather is all part of the experience. I went shopping (as the Musee d’Orsay is closed on a Monday, with Lydia Moleele (our stage manager) and Sarah Bonjean (our Co Manager from the Producers Office) who I call my PA!!! She has been absolutely amazing and has a sense of humour! Sarah You ROCK! A massive shopping Mall with everything you can wish for… then off to the Japanese Quarter near the Opera, where we had the most fabulous lunch and Japanese pastries and then off to the Opera, I was looking for a shop to buy new split sole teaching shoes (the company are complaining that my old shoes make me look like my feet a sickle-ing) but it started to pour with rain so I found out where the SANSHA shop is – there is also a Sale on at the moment! - and will go on Saturday after we get paid!!! It is truly amazing to be walking around the streets of Paris and the architecture and vibe is really something else. Got back to the Apart-Hotel and tried to work the dishwasher (took a while, but dishes done!) then did laundry and tumble-dried my stuff (done and packed away!) I feel so Hannah House Proud in my little apartment! The tech team of Hansel & Gretel have arrived safely in DBN with the set and start their get-in this morning. The company travel down on Wednesday… feel a bit left out but a decision had to be made… Durban / Paris??? The latter won! But I do feel like I am with the company in spirit and am being updates all the way! I will be seeing Ebrahim Medell & Fred Koening this evening at our performance of Swan Lake. Eibie arrived yesterday from Cape Town to perform with Fred here in Nanouche, I haven’t seen them for ages so will be great to catch up again after the show.
