PARSONS CHAIN........Parsons chain began in 1902 and was the largest producer of chain assemblies in the british isles,it was an american owned company and had two sister companies as well,the national standard and british wire products,national standard moved onto the premises first followed by the other two companies just after ,in 1938 another factory was built on the site,in 1947 the business was sold to the american chain and cable company,in 1960 another building was built and by 1964 the company was doing so well it needed to expand so british wire products moved to baldwin road,the american chain and cable company sold out to babcock international in the 1970s x
