PART 2: CAN A BELIEVER LOSE SALVATION ? The answer is emphatic, YES. First, lets look at what happens at salvation. The Holy Spirit moves into the repentant heart (Acts 2:38). Self is no longer the supreme lord of our lives. Jesus is now the boss. That is what it means to say JESUS IS LORD. (Rom.10:9) Colossians2:6. We begin to view life from Gods perspective. The sins we once committed without thought now brings conviction. 1 John 3:9 says, No one who is born of God will continue to sin, because Gods seed remains in them. Remember that the Holy Spirit can not, and will not continually stay in an unholy or ungodly heart, a heart that continually grieves Him. Believers who go back to their sinful ways lose their salvation, and in most cases; permanently. The Bibles says in Hebrews 6:4-6; It is impossible for those who have once been enlightened, who have tasted the heavenly gift, who have shared in the Holy Spirit, who have tasted the goodness of the Word of God and the powers of the coming age; If they fall away, to be brought back to repentance, because to their loss they are crucifying the son of God all over again and subjecting Him to public disgrace. How can you do this to Christ and still live under the illusion that, once saved, always saved. ? Please check the phrase again, if they fall away. To fall away shows that you were once standing; you can not fall if not standing. You were a child of God and now, an enemy. To be saved and going back to your old sinful ways mean that, you are crucifying Christ all over again. You could be saved and later unsaved. The scripture is not complicated at all. John 14:15 says; I ye love Me, keep my commandmments. And in John 15:10, it says, If ye keep My commandments,ye shall abide in my love. Whoever has ear, let him hear. God bless you. Please stay tuned for more tomorrow.
