PART ONE I remember the year 1998 we move from Cheney back to Ferry County up on Empire Creek. This was after schools Were out in Cheney. Schools were still in session in Curlew. I had to have some teeth done and in order to do that I had to go from Ferry County over the rugged mountain passes down into Collville. This took two or three trips so come the end of June and almost into July and due to last winter snows, schools were still in session at least well into June third week. There came along a rainstorm that was eventually billed as the rainstorm of forever. It did $8 million worth of damage in Ferry County washing out many many roads where mountain people lived in the wilderness. It also washed out some of the main roads and washed out many of the arterials. That was extra money up and above the 8 million.
