PART TIME JOB OPENING: RE-ENTRY HOUSING SPECIALIST SALARY RANGE: $14.34/hr.- $17.86/hr. - PART-TIME (27.5 hours per week) OFFICE LOCATION: 18 The Green, Dover, DE 19901 OPENING DATE: December 9, 2014 CLOSING DATE: December 23, 2014 MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Applicants must show on the application, transcript of education, training or experience demonstrating competence in the following areas: 1) Experience in health or human services support, such as interviewing clients and assessing personal, health, social or financial needs in accordance with program requirements or coordinating with community resources to obtain client services. 2) Experience in applying laws, rules, regulations, standards, policies and procedures. 3) Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite applications. 4) Be cleared to enter all level 4 correctional institutions, or be able to get clearance within 30 days of hire. 5) Have valid drivers license, reliable transportation and be willing to travel throughout the State. PRINCIPLE ACCOUNTABILITIES The Reentry Housing Specialist works in the Policy and Planning section and coordinates with the Department of Correction and other organizations to assist offenders being released who have no identified housing resource, or who become homeless soon after release. § Interviewing and Interactions with Offenders: Provide workshops on housing to groups of offenders and work one-on-one with offenders and others to determine individual housing needs and to assist offenders to develop effective short-term and long-term housing plans. § Service Coordination: Assist offenders to identify and access resources to address their housing needs. Understand community resources and be able to effectively navigate offenders through various public and private systems to become stably housed. Developing relationships with landlords and housing programs to facilitate housing placement of offenders. § Data Management: Enter data into data management systems and generate reports. Analyze data and develop reports that provide recommendations to help Delaware better understand the offender population and their housing needs. § Participation in the I-ADAPT steering committee. § The provision of case management services to offenders participating in the I-ADAPT program.
