PARTING SHOT.. Good news on the Ebola front. On three fronts, actually. In Dallas, last Friday, the last of 177 health care workers under observation was cleared of any sign of Ebola. In Maine, nurse Kaci Hickox, who defied state authorities for trying to lock her up, ended her quarantine on Monday – and is now officially Ebola-free and able to resume her normal life. And in New York City yesterday, Dr. Craig Spencer was declared cured of Ebola and released from the hospital. Meanwhile, not one new case of Ebola has been reported in the United States in the last month. What a contrast with the panic over Ebola the media was whipping up, just a few weeks ago. When there was so much bad news about Ebola, the CDC and the White House got a lot of legitimate criticism. Now that there’s some good news, the CDC and the White House deserve kudos for a job well done. That’s my parting shot for today. I’m Bill Press.
