PARTING SHOT.... Here I am, back from the frontline. Yes, back from two days in Dallas, and the frontline of the Ebola crisis. And, let me tell you, I think theres more fear about Ebola everywhere else in the country - than there is in Dallas. Stores and restaurants were full. Streets were crowded. I was in downtown Dallas. I was in the West Village. I was on the campus of SMU. And I didnt see one face mask nor one hazmat suit. Out of 1000 people scheduled to attend the conference I attended, 90 people cancelled because of Ebola. Otherwise, there was no mention of the disease. It was business as usual. And as I left Dallas yesterday it was announced that 51 people whod been monitored since the death of Thomas Eric Duncan - including his fiancee and her family - were released from observation. And the emergency room of the Dallas Presbyterian Hospital had resumed normal operations. Dallas, in other words, is back to normal. Hopefully, the rest of the country will soon be, too.
