PARTY ON THE LAWN INFORMATION Hi Everyone, not long now so for anyone making their way to Bishopstone on the 21st here is some information for you. How to find us. Prebendal Farm, Bishopstone, Swindon, Wilts SN6 8PT The post code and Google maps/ sat navs will get you to the location where signs will direct you to the camp field which is south of the road (Ickneild Way). Camper vans, trailer tents and caravans can only access the field when coming from the west due to the angle of track to field so please plan your arrival bearing this in mind as there are few turning places nearby or practice your trailer reversing skills in the next few weeks. Any large Winnebago style camper vans will need to contact Rob in advance to discuss accessibility and possible alternative site. We’ve only had one unable to access in the past. From the M5 Exit at 11a and take A417 south for Cirencester this becomes A419 for Swindon After c27m take A420 for Oxford, go c3 miles, under railway arches and take next Right for Bourton. Immediately Right again for Bourton over Railway and through twisty Village, once out of Bourton stay on road for c2-3 miles (ignoring a left turn to Bishopstone) to triangle jctn at Hinton Springs Left here and up the hill to Bishopstone. Slowly into village and look for signs. From M4 Exit at Jctn 15 take A346 south for Marlborough < 1mile, having passed Esso garage on right, take next left for Bishopstone. c2 miles over staggered x rds (r + qu l). another c2 miles past The Burj Indian Rest (formerly Shepherds Rest) to give way, bear right here and follow on to Bishopstone. From A420 Through Bourton (see M5) There are other ways but these will get you to us and are the best routes for vans and campers. I’m sure your GPS will have hissy fits about these routes, the choice is yours. All distances are approx. Camping is available Fri and Sat nights. Portaloos and running water are available on the site. Dogs Well behaved dogs are permitted but please be aware that a few people have asked to bring dogs so some degree of control will be needed to avoid dog fights. There are also sheep grazing in fields not far from the campsite and car park. Could you also bring bags to clear any mess in the garden and concert site. There are plenty of footpaths and tracks close by for walking but again please be aware of sheep and a few chicken in our orchard next to the site. Food There will be a pig roast as well as organic burgers, hot dogs and bacon rolls from the neighbouring farm, farmed by Helen Browning, the chief executive of the Soil Association. We have struggled to find a vegetarian caterer to come on board due to us being a small event. There will be a limited supply of vegetarian food but you are welcome to bring your own fare. We will try to get the local ice cream van to swing in at some point during the afternoon. Drink A bar will be offering local beers from Ramsbury Brewery along with cider and some carefully selected wines for sale by the bottle. The bar is being run by local folk and any profits are to go to local organisations and charities.
