PASS-OVER Sep.8,2013 “Now before the feast of the Passover, when Jesus knew that his hour was come and the he should depart out of this world unto the Father, having loved his own which were in the World, He loved them unto the end”. (John 13 vs 1). That is the Focal Scripture of Streams of Joy Devotional Today. Today’s Focal Scripture makes reference to the feast of the Passover. The Passover feast was a Jewish feast, in commemoration of God’s deliverance to the children of Israel when the angel of death visited Egypt (Exodus 12 vs 12-20). Interestingly, the Word ‘PASSOVER’ is made up of two words: ‘PASS’ and ‘OVER’. To pass over something means to jump over it without taking it off the way. To pass over something ordinarily suggests that whatever needs to be passed over is an obstacle. To pass over a hurdle is to make progress and leave the hurdle behind. Friend, are there obstacles standing against your destiny? God says, You shall pass over them. You shall rise above the obstacles standing against your progress; You shall jump over every roadblock that is threatening to halt your movement in destiny. You shall jump over every trap of the enemy. The Grace of God will empower you to rise above the obstacles standing against your destiny. The grace of God will empower you to pass over the haters of your destiny. The grace of God will empower you to make a mess of every limitation that the enemy has placed before you. If there are people who have vowed that you won’t make progress, don’t fret; God says, You will rise above them. They will watch helplessly as you go higher and higher. God may not remove the hurdle on your way, but He will empower you to pass over every hurdle! Psalm 18 vs 29 summarises it thus, “For by thee, I have run through a troop; and by my God, have I leaped over a wall”. Pray with me, “Lord, may your Grace empower to pass over every obstacle in Jesus name”. Have a Blessed!
