PASSIONATE PLEA FOR DONATIONS FOR CUPS!! – PLEASE SHARE WITH AS MANY PEOPLE AS POSSIBLE!! Dear respected CUPS members, following the deadly campaign of genocide against our people that has been going on since 2009, after careful consideration and due consultations, on 6th November 2014 we created the Human Rights organisation - CUPS. This new body is the first of its kind that espouses to promote unity, peace, and security for all Nigerians, without political, religious, tribal, and gender trappings. It is indeed an ambitious project, and we are proud that we have already made history in so many fronts. Now, like any other self respecting organisation, we need to be financially solvent. In order for us to survive, we must be able to raise the money we need for our projects through membership donations, if we truly believe in the cause that we are fighting for, otherwise CUPS remains just a grandeur idea on a sheet of paper. Up until now, our people lack a single point of reference for mass mobilisation to fight back Boko Haram. The politicians are busy doing their usual politics, while our so called leaders have disappeared into the thin air. All we have been doing is talking on social media, and running from one town to the other as we get attacked by the marauding barbarians, who slaughter us like sheep, and destroy everything material that we ever owned. For how long can we tolerate this madness? Enough is enough! Our people are completely traumatised and tired of the talking, which they now find exasperating. This is the time for action. Unless we act, very soon we won’t even have anywhere else to run to. It is absolutely clear to us and to the rest of the world that the idea of depending on the government to protect us from Boko Haram has spectacularly failed. If we don’t learn valuable lessons from the Baga massacre of over 2,000 of our people, we will never learn! We must now be courageous to bear the burden of protecting ourselves, and that of our ancestral lands. By so doing, our children and future generations of our progeny will have a place they will call home. To this end, as a matter of urgency, we need to raise money to complete and distribute the CJTF Legal Framework that we have been working on. The legal framework will empower every community, village, town, and city in Nigeria to form their own CJTF volunteer groups. As of this morning, one hundred and fifteen thousand Naira (115,000.00) has been raised. We need to raise a lot more.
