PASTORS BLOG. Hi Church This morning I had a busy morning planned with a number of tasks I wanted to achieve. As I was getting a coffee to start the day I had a major interruption, which saw me for the next 2 hours on the phone with Customer Service being sent from one person to another to solve an issue that wasnt even really my problem. AAAARRRRRGGGGGHHHHH Frustration... I found myself on a number of occasions feeling my blood rise, my anger well, and my patience tested. How could something that should have been so easy turn so complicated and how come the people who should be able to help me actually give me more stress. A number of times I had to exercise self-control. Which I did as I thought of the person on the other side of the phone who was only trying to do their job. (You usually get more with sugar than spice anyway) Isnt it amazing how sometimes its the simple things that can trip us up? When faced with a big issue I can generally work through it, I can pray it through, I can strategize and I can see my way through but a little thing like unhelpful customer service and I feel like the worlds against me. Solomon tells us that its the little foxes that spoil the vine. Sometimes its the little things that can ruin our witness, our testimony. Maybe its an attitude, a hasty remark, a slip of the tongue, though not that bad, which ruins the effectiveness of our influence for the Kingdom on a person we are relating to. Sometimes its an attitude of apathy, or a feeling of condemnation that ruins our relationship with God. We could be so close, but due to a small thing we distance ourselves from God. Its also the small things that enhance our lives and relationships. At the end of my phone call this morning I made a point of complimenting the lady I was talking to. Though I was frustrated, I decided to own my attitude rather than make her pay”. I felt better and I hope she did. The little niceties, like manners, simple thankfulness, or a positive attitude go a long way in improving the quality of our lives and the lives of the people we come into contact with. Have a great week. Much Love and Blessings Ps Mark and Nina.
