PASTORS CORNER - May 18, 2014 A Weekly Devotional from Pastor James taken from the Sunday morning bulletin. During the extraordinary life of D.L. Moody, he shared many powerful words that caused others to always think about eternity. I recently read one of his quotes when he shared the following, This world that some think is heaven, is the home of sin, a hospital of sorrow, a place that has nothing in it to satisfy the soul. Men go all over it and then want to get out of it. The more men see of the world the less they think of it. People soon grow tired of the best pleasures it has to offer. Someone has said that the world is a stormy sea, whose every wave is strewn with the wrecks of mortals that perish in it. Every time we breathe someone is dying. We all know that we are going to stay here but a very little while…….. ONLY THE OTHER LIFE IS ENDURING. Throughout the years, the LORD has used quotes like this to remind me of the little time we have on this earth. Every day that we live is a gift from God and an opportunity to glorify Him! Each and every single one of you has a unique gift and opportunity to take advantage of this great call. Paul told this to the church in Rome, I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. (Romans 12:1-2) My prayer for us here at CCSH is that we would be encouraged with the understanding that the LORD has a tremendous plan for each and every single one of our lives! Yes, He desires to do a work corporately in our fellowship, but even more importantly, He wants to do great things in each and every single one of you!!! Dont let precious time get away! Be open to the purposes of our great God!!! May the LORD richly bless you as you continue to serve Him with all of your heart!!!
