PASTORS ENCOURAGEMENT Dear Pastor / Reverend, Even till this - TopicsExpress

PASTORS ENCOURAGEMENT Dear Pastor / Reverend, Even till this day, I am deeply concerned about the church, about that which I have seen. We used to be called the church of the living God. The question I am raising today: “Is God still alive in the church?” No this message is not to judge, but to encourage. You see, when we listen to many sermons today, we hear a lot of well-prepared rhetoric. We see Pastors and orators delivering messages, theologically, politically and humanistic correct. Pastors quote from “purpose driven life”, the prayer of Jabes” and other books. They use the Word to prove the correctness of their message rather than to proclaim Jesus Christ and Him crucified. I have listened to the songs we sing; Songs that stir up the people; songs that brings a false sense of joy. Many of these songs don’t even mention Jesus Christ. In fact, wrong as it is, the name of Jesus is often heard more frequently in worldly music. So what is the problem? It is my personal opinion that we lack the anointing, the divine appointment of God to preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Yes, many say they are called by God, but it appears as if only a few are walking in the anointing of God. After all it is the anointing that breaks the yoke, the anointing that allows streams of living water to flow from us, the anointing that draws lost sinners to a place of repentance and salvation. Often we run after others, follow the teaching of others. Often we act like them, preach like them, even cry like them. However in surrendering to Christ, Christ has poured out his Spirit on you. As long as his Spirit remains in you, you do not need anyone to teach you. For his Spirit teaches you about everything, and what he teaches is true, not false. Obey the Spirits teaching, then, and remain in union with Christ. (1 John 2:27) And just as the Spirit of God will guide you and teach you, the assembly will benefit from an overflow of the Holy Spirit and the anointing. For 2015 I pray: Spirit of the living God, fall afresh on me. Spirit of the living God, fall afresh on me. Break me, melt me, mould me, fill me, Spirit of the living God, fall afresh on me.
