PATAGONS ARE COMMING HOME ! Today was the last photo day of our 20 day Patagonia Photo Special. And what a day it was. We went to the King Penguin Colony at Tierra del Fuego with blue sky and moderate wind. Normaly its only possible to see this species at Malvinas, South Georgia or other subantartic Islands. But the name of this species says: Aptenodytes patagonicus So where is the name Patagonia comming from if they do not live in Patagonia. The scientists say that in Tierra del Fuego in the past there was a huge colony of this species. Bones found along the coast while digging confirm this theorie....so as this group of penguins started to bread in Patagonia - THEY ARE COMMING HOME. Lets celebrate and welcome them......
