PAUL WRITES AND PRODUCES NUMBER ONE HIT FOR MARY HOPKIN. In the early days of Apple Records Paul contributed both songs and support for artists including Badfinger and Mary Hopkin who had a lot of chart success. It was during the short time period in Beatles history seemed like a money maker. Now in the year 2015, in a time where The Beatles have their songs available on iTunes, Apple is bigger than it ever was during the time when the Beatles were were still a working group [and that OTHER company name Apple isnt doing too badly, either.] This is Mary Hopkin doing a McCartney song called GOODBYE. It was released on 28 March 28th, 1969, and it reached No. 2 in the UK singles chart, prevented from reaching the top position by the Beatles single GET BACK.
