PAX Club members, You may have heard the rumblings, but as of late last week we got the go ahead from the MABRA race coordinator and our USAC license was submitted for the Leonardtown Criterium 2014. The race this year will be on Sunday June 1, 2014. The event is listed on bikereg and registration will open shortly. As you know, organizing and running and event of this size takes a large group effort. I need help from club members to have this event grow in the eyes of both the community and racers. In years past, Jim Swift has helped the club as volunteer coordinator for the race. His responsiblities included updating the marshals map, generating and updating the marshal matrix, and coordinating the volunteers on day of prep and race support. Jim has decided to take the year off so... We need volunteers to serve as volunteer coordinator! Please get in touch with me if you think youd be interested in helping. Additionally, please mark the date on your calendars and starting thinking about whether you: a) Are availble to set up the course the day of. b) Are available to marshal the course throughout the day. c) Are available the night before to assist with a Movie on the square like we did last year. d) Have connections with organizations and businesses that would be willing to sponsor the event. e) Have unique ideas for how to promote the event.
