PB ALERT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My 7 year quest for the one has finally ended. On a very cold night with little fish activity other than a huge fish rolling here and there near my baited area, I received a slow steady run on one my rods as one of my delkims screamed off. I hesitated for a moment watching the spool until it began to spin a bit faster. The moment I hooked the fish I knew I had the one I was after. A slow but steadily increasing run went on for what seemed liked at least two minutes until I was finally able to slow and halt the fish. It held itself the bottom several times in between gaining a few feet of line on the reel. Each time I was convinced momentarily that I was in a snag but wasnt at all. It was just the raw power of this mighty fish. I had a few more slow but steady runs on tight drag as well as some savage head shakes that were absolutely rod wrenching. Having great faith in my Saxon Hexalite 3.00 lb. tc 12 rods during battles with so many amazing and large carp this season, the tables turned in my favor quickly on into the fight even when the rod was bent fully and tested by this fish like no other had before. Before netting ths fish I saw the massive girth, head and tail along with the length that confirmed what I knew. My first fish breaking the magical 40 mark! A monster of a common weighing 41 lbs. 7 oz. and measuring just over 40 inches long!!!!!! Falling to a big fish double boilie rig of two 24mm glugged boilies. A Fruity Peach 24mm glugged boilie topped with a Pineapple Ice Cream 24mm glugged boilie. The result of a successful heavy baiting campaign of K-1 boilies and my homemade boilie chops. Forging a new quest for an even bigger monster with the holy grail of the fish of a lifetime still very much on my mind. Here she is!!!!!
