PBR celebrates 21st anniversary with official birthday party - New fan zone location at Mandalay Bay will host star-studded affair which will also serve as Bushwacker’s official retirement party PUEBLO, Colo. – What better place to celebrate your 21st birthday than Las Vegas! On Saturday, Oct. 25, the Professional Bull Riders will celebrate its 21st anniversary with the Official PBR 21st Birthday presented by Jack Daniel’s. The party will take place in the Tyson Fan Zone & Marketplace, located at the Mandalay Bay Hotel & Casino on the corner of Russell Road and S. Las Vegas Blvd. Admission is free and doors open to the general public at 8:30 p.m. A star-studded red carpet and interviews with PBR bull riders; Scott Eastwood and Britt Robertson of “The Longest Ride,” the feature film based on Nicholas Sparks best-selling novel; actress and supermodel Lydia Hearst; “Storage Wars’” Barry Weiss and more will kick off the night at 9 p.m. An introduction of the PBR founders and the stars of the 2014 Built Ford Tough World Finals will take place, as well as the unveiling of the official 21st birthday cake designed by Las Vegas’ Showboy Bakeshop. Bushwacker will be featured as the PBR celebrates his retirement, and fans will be able to hear from Julio Moreno, the owner of the greatest bull the PBR has ever known. Rounding out the evening will be a concert by country and rock musician Casey Jamerson. “The PBR is looking forward to sharing this birthday with everyone – riders, staff, VIPs and most especially, the fans,” PBR Chairman and CEO Jim Haworth said. “Las Vegas has been a very significant part of the PBR’s history and success. We couldn’t imagine having this celebration anywhere else. We invite everyone to come out and enjoy it with us.” The 2014 PBR World Finals starts Wednesday, Oct. 22, at UNLV’s Thomas & Mack Center. The Top 35 bull riders in the world will be competing for their share of the $2.2 million total purse, with one man leaving the arena $1 million richer as the 2014 PBR World Champion. Tickets for the World Finals are on sale starting at $25 at the Thomas & Mack Center box office, UNLVTickets, and by telephone at (702) 739-FANS (3267). The World Finals will air live on CBS Sports Network Wednesday through Saturday at 9 p.m. ET and Sunday at 4 p.m. ET.
