PBRS cannot make a stand on the controversial tabling of the Administration of religion of Islam (Federal Territories)Bill 2013 because its President is a member of the cabinet. He is actually masquerading his cowardice for fear of losing his position in the cabinet. How ridiculous !For Pairin,i guess he is still snoring! The bill must be opposed vehemently for section 51(b) ambiguously provides inherent powers to a muslim converting parent/partner to decide on the religion of the children. Section 51(b)(iii),(xi)and(xii) also serve as tool for manipulation with regards to maintenance.custody of children as well as unilateral declaration of the religious status of disputed deceased partners in controversial conversion case. In short,if the bill is passed,it gives powers to the Shariah Court to abrogate the jurisdiction of the civil court in regards to ancillary relief to non-muslims. My friends ,this is against civil liberties and we must register our objection.
