PBS News Hour recently showcased a program featured at Oleta River State Park in North Miami. The program focused on disabled teenagers from American Senior High School and gives the students the opportunity to participate in recreational activities, such as kayaking and sailing. The program focuses primarily on health for those with disabilities, who are 40% more likely to be obese and far less likely to be physically active than their peers without disabilities.
