PCSS is thinking outside the books! Hats off to PCSS schools for being willing and excited to try a variety of learning resources! At the classroom level and school level, there are often “pilot programs” in place for a defined period of time. After a trial period, word spreads, and carefully researched decisions are made about continuing or expanding a program. Being implemented for Summer 2014, eight schools are part of a pilot for myON, a personalized supplemental reading program – accessible 24/7 through most electronic devices. Participating elementary schools are Capshaw, Northeast, Baxter, and Prescott South. Participating middle schools are Avery Trace, Prescott South, Algood, and Cornerstone. myON will personalize titles for each student based on criteria such as reading level and personal interest. Stay tuned for feedback at the end of the summer…the myON library never closes…! To log in, students need access to the Internet. The student’s username is the same username they have used this year for Compass Learning and benchmark testing. The password for everyone is student. Go to myon.
