PDF page 62 (document page 55) - describing the Chisholm Trail: entering the Bosque territory east of the Bosque River, this famous trail followed the grassy prairies east of Clifton and Meridian to cross Steele Creek at the Samuel Nichols farm (now the town of Morgan) and the Brazos River at Kimball Bend. During the high point of the cattle drives, 1870-1878, the Bosque portion of the trail was well marked and the town of Kimball flourished as a typical frontier cowtown. If the Chisholm was over in Bosque County and crossed the Brazos at Kimball Bend, then what trail were the cattle crossing the suspension bridge or swimming the Brazos at Waco on? https://digital.library.txstate.edu/bitstream/handle/10877/3863/fulltext.pdf?sequence=1
