PDP Cautions Chief Don Etiebiet; Says It Wont Hesitate To Discipline Erring Members October 30, 2014 Press Statement Caution Against Unguarded Utterances The attention of our great party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has been drawn to the comments made by one of our Board of Trustees member, Chief Don Etiebiet contradicting the decision of the National Working Committee on the zoning of the Akwa Ibom Governorship seat to Eket Senatorial Zone. The PDP is an orderly and organized entity. The decisions of the party are taken after a thorough assessment of facts presented and a fair consideration of the opinions of the contending parties. The party cannot therefore contradict itself on a particular matter. We therefore reaffirm the position of the National Working Committee (NWC) in endorsing the decision to zone the Akwa Ibom governorship position to Eket Senatorial Zone. We strongly advise all members of the party to respect the decision of the party and be mindful of utterances capable of bringing the party into disrepute. The leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) will be left with no other option than to engage disciplinary measures and suspend any erring member who goes against the stand of the party.
